Ballfoot Talk.

No, not football talk but ball foot.

Wah! Went thru a series of agonising pain recently and talk about the 'Golden Age'!

You see, when we were younger then, we were told to prepare for the senior years called the "Golden Years". I recall some young insurance saleman telling me to save for those years and boy, was he right. The Golden Years actually means that it is a time where you bring out all the 'reserved gold' and start to spend! That is, if you have saved enough!
One would spend on 'golden' rimmed bifocals, (maybe) golden false tooth (or dentures), gold rimmed walking stick, or even (golden) costs of wrinkle creams, hair restorers, pain killers, hearing aids and even a gold plated wheel chair! Just kidding lah!

After visiting a bone specialist, an Orthopedic doctor, I was told that I have a problem called "Archilies Tendonitis". Sole, Tendon, Metatarsalgia, blub,blub....What the heck was that?

He said something like...... I have damaged a part of my foot's blah!blah!blah! Huh?

Just what was that?Huh? Alamak! It was also part of ageing and the most important of them all, I was wearing a wrong type of slipper/shoe/footwear for many, many years! Now turn back to the 70s. Do we know what we were supposed to wear besides Bata shoes and Tat Seng flip flops? Nah!

Now, this specialist tells me that! So what to do now?
He said we have to wear the right footware so that it can prevent further damage and it also helps to reduce pain and may even help heal that part of the body. After listening all his explaination, I began to realise that all the while and for so many years, we ALL were wearing the WRONG type of footwear!!! The present type like the flat-based (sole) flip flops like the so called "japanese slippers" are trouble causing! Just go look at what everyone that you know of, are wearing today? Still flip flops! Looks like they are going to flip and flop BIG time.

My medical cost of anti-inflammation, pain killers, vitamins and plasters cost me several hundred ringgit and eventually still needed to buy proper footwear.

The only brand that can do that today is a brand called CROCS.

It is a very well made footwear which is specially made to protect almost all parts of your lower foot. It is very well padded at the right points and absorbs impact bearing down from our body while walking. Besides CROCS there is another well known brand called Scholl which makes only slippers.

CROCS makes ALL types such as slippers and walking shoes.

Abuthen, they even make shoes for working!

Wah! The undersole is made like a sport car GT tyre!
The main and ONLY purpose of buying CROCS is for its Sole which I believe is the ONLY brand available here in Malaysia today. You can got to:- http://www.crocs.com/ to view their set up. For that reason, I bought 4 pairs. One to go out. One to use while working in the garden ,one to use it 'inside' the home and one for wifey. This Colorado based company in the USA have spent so much effort in designing the soles to perfectly fit your foot contours so that you will not feel any strain but comfort. Believe me! It works!

They are available at many pharmacies throughout Malaysia and there is a very large outlet located at Ikano Power Centre, Mutiara Damansara, PJ, Selangor where the range is almost complete. Go there for better choice. They have got a very large selection for kids. Let us start them right.

Just see the contoured moulding and it is very cushy and soft. Almost 2 inches thick! Excellent shock absorbent

In spite of manufacturing these footwares in China, they are still pricey but no choice!
Either this or pay more for medical bills let alone further suffering. Otherwise, should care is not taken, complicated surgeries, injections hospital visits is going to be very regular!

So far, it helped greatly. This is the golden Age remember?

My only wish is that all other footware brands (especially the local ones) offer these type of medically correct shoes and slippers as a standard and eventually, it would be more affordable thus saving so many other in terms of sufferings. Wondered what happened to brands like Tat Seng?

BIGFOOT & RED EYES!!

"....Once upon a time, in the year late 1700AD there were sailors and explorers babbling about a strange bird that is not Big but small like a fowl but have Big Feet. It digs deep holes in the ground with their powerful legs, lays the eggs and build a mound about the size of a Kancil car! It also measures and control the mound's temperature by adding and/or removing organic materials for the right warmth doing all that with only their large feet! After a few weeks,the hatchlings just flies off from these deep holes! No other kinds of bird does that except for reptiles such as crocodiles........."

Welcome to the stranger part of Birding. As a beginer and have also bought up many books on Asian Birds, I have not heards of such birds described as above. A Bird behaving like a reptile?
Strange but true.
This is the Tabon Megapode (Megapodius cumingii) or in Malaysia, we call it Ayam Tambun.

This bird exists and is proudly found in Borneo, Malaysia. Sadly, it is fast dissapearing and have been listed as in 2008 IUCN Red List Catagory. A Danger warning of fast dissapearence and near extinction!!!

In this month's volume of The Malaysian Naturalist, Ravinder Kaur's story on our bigfoot is an eye opener to me as I have not yet have the orportunity to see one alive, yet! Alim Biun's photos are excellent because it gave me a better understanding what this megapode is all about.
Malaysian is still a home to so many fauna and flora that need studying and with the fast dissapearance of our forrests, we may lose many more especially the ones we have not even named them!!!

HONK to Support!

It is usually very quiet this part of Klang. As far as I know it IS normally very quiet in Klang until some smart alec decided to raise the fuel price astronomically. So the people cannot tahan already and began to take to the street (highway..hic).

"...some ass also said something like...Malaysian veri peaceful wan. No nid to mogok here and mogok there...." Many do not think so. They are all so pissed up alleady.

Today, just an hour ago, a crowd began to build right in front of Carrefour Klang along the Shapadu Highway at the Jalan Kapar junction. Boy, they are all pissed off. I was told that they are waiting for more to join them later. Maybe about a thousand!

I can also see so many cops at all four coners of this highway. Klang got so many policeman wan meh? How come we don't see them when we want to? Or be there to 'frighten' the would be crooks? I guess all Klang cops are there and the Balai must be empty by now!!!!!
Berhenti! I also think that the cops would prefer them to 'berhenti' (stop) this protest as it haven't rain for the last four days and is getting very 'hot'. Maybe go into Carrefour for a cool Ais Lemon Teh.
Also look like the coming weekends are going to be busy!!!!

In May 2002, I bought the Sony Cybershot DSC TI. It was launched two months before.

This surprised many of my friends because I was a serious photographer before this and they thought being a diehard, digital photography would not interest me.

My collection of standard 35mm SLRs and numerous lenses plus bellows kit for super Macro shooting was the main stay then.
My collections of 18,000 negatives collected from my 35 years of photography, KodakChrome slides and large format 120 slides shot with Hasselblads and Roleiflex were commercial grade too. Now, these are all of no use since digital cameras came about.

I was very happy with this super compact Sony DSC T1 which became my travelling companion in shooting wild orchids in the deep jungle and under Monsoon Rains, Photographing show winning orchids at Thai International Shows plus other overseas trip and adventures.

Some good video clips were also done with this Cybershot. She have been good to me after all these six years. Super small and super slim is her best asset.

Time changed. Specification improved and I was off to find a replacement getting me better Megapixels, higher optical Zoom, and quicker shutter speed.

No, I decided, not to get the full time DSLR which ,for my needs, would set me back at least RM 30,000++. Another compact camera attracted me is the newly (also) launched Cybershot DSC T300 but then, some feature fell short.

I began to look for something between the compact Cybershot type and the bigger DSLR.

I was recommended the Olympus 570UZ, The new Nikon P80 and the also new Sony Cybershot DSC H50. It took 2 weeks to compare feature for feature and of course my preferred requirement comes first.

I had the opportunity of placing all 3 of them side by side. Comparing the feel, looks and the features. For the Optical Zoom, Olympus (20X) beats Nikon (18X) and Sony(15X),
For Video Function, Sony beats both Nikon and Olympus. Only Sony can 'zoom' while video is shooting. For nature shots, only Sony have the 'remote control function' while the other 2 has none. I would also need it for Birds Photography. Mounted on a Gorillaz tripod it can be used to shoot hatchlings on the nest while its mother feed them at only 10 inches away. I can also shoot a video with this mounting. Sony also beats the two in having tiltable Rear LCD screen (3") when Olympus have a fixed 2.7" and the Nikon fixed 2.5". Finally I decided on the Sony Cybershot DSC H50 mini DSLR camera.

Mounted on a tripod to take a macro shot in low light and on a tripod and the LCD sreeen tilted.
Shooting far subjects in 15X optical zoom needs a steady hand even it has a super steady shot.
Mounted with the rear LCD tilted up. A view hood is added to cut off glare.
The extra large LCD display is bright and with a right cable it can be viewed in High Definition 1080p in a HD1080p LCDTV.
The grips are comfortable and is light weight

Oh No! Just what is going on? Why are we getting so much problems over our own territories?
First, it was Horsburgh and the two little Rocks and now this.

The Minister says we "got to do some homework" to solve this and I personally think that it is going to suck. Sinkapore may have some thing (like a document...... blah!blah!) that we do not have and looks like they going to "Jaga" the Lighthouse for quite awhile.

This Annual International event is truly a must go if you are very interested in Birds. Mainly because it is a breeding season and is where all male birds shows off their breeding plumage (...i.e fully dressed up!) In the Birds' world, the guys got the colors and the gals......well?...yawn!.

The last year's event showed an excellent turn out but I truly did not like what it has become compared to all those previous years. This is a Hutan Simpanan (Forest Reserved)area. There are too many noisy motobikes, some even played fire crackers! Do we need all that kind of stalls selling clothes and trinklets stuff?

Fraser's Hill is a very, very special small place and is very fragile to unnecessary over crowding!It is a very peaceful place where human and nature bonds.

There is no 'shopping malls', 'no amusement parks' or 'no vegetable farms' nor even a casino! Some tourists were clueless and mentioned that Fraser's Hill is a boring place and was wondering why did their Tour Agency brought them up here in the first place!! Poor folks!

Last year, at the bird race, some VVIP came in their helicopter (iron bird!) and hopped onto their special cars. The bazzar-like atmosphere turned out to be like a day time pasar-malam!!! Hey! this is a Bird Race! Have some Quiet Please!

The Great INDOMEE & IBUMEE Scam

When buying instant mee for trips to see birds, catch fish, photo orchids or to trek in the wilds, we always carry some packets of these with us. Because it is ultra-lightweight and placing them into our Camelbaks are never a problem.

The receipe we loved most is the dry one. The"Mee Goreng Asli" which was around for quite a while. Occasionally, at home, some slices of soft red tomatoes, thin slices of celerey stalk and of course, a large fried egg, sunny side up, will always do the trick. Also with the coming Euro 2008, this 'mee goreng' is surely cheaper than at the mamak shops.

Due to the recent fuel hike, we are buying extras of these just in case we do not wish to go out for the un-necessary and expensive supper.

DING DONG!!!!
Now also got fake (imitation) wan!!
At first say, 4 years ago, the original Indomee Mee Goreng usually sells for only RM2.30/pk of five. Then 2 years later, it went up for RM2.85/pk of five. Then, it dissappeared with no stock for four weeks. My wifey came back from Jusco BBK with a pack of five for RM3.39!!!!
Wah the price shooted up already so fast. But better lor, so long no more stock also.
Wait!Wait! Why is the brand so different want? Packaging same color, Pattern also same, the illustration such as the fork, the mee, the prawn, the bowl...all same design?
We quickly open up our last remaining pack of the original and compared the difference.
Yo!...Heeeeer's Big...cheeeeto!!!!!!

Then, hor, we went to another hypermart to try to get the old brand and found that the original Indomee is now selling at RM4.00/pack of five.!!!! And that would be 80sen per pack which was at only 45sen each. Just how many percent increase is that?

So back at the 'fake' tipu look alike brand, they even sold it higher that the Indomee. Is this the work of the "Evil' Consortium of Instant Noodles?
Hey, CAP, NCCC...Ministry.......go check them for profiteering, Quick...quick!

Just called up my newspaper delivery man. Also cancelled newspapers for the office. I suggest all of you do the same and teach these media papers a lesson. I do not want to be shocked if my delivery guy increases his 'delivery charges'. Can still get news from my fellow bloggers and I trust them more than the stoopid main stream media (MSM). All others bluffing onli.

See, my fellow blogger posted some truth about other countries' petrol prices at the pump.

Our media do not highlight these info before until today! What we want to know is that whether other country got collect ROAD TAX or not? So many Toll? Now, Electricity price also kena.

Next is the cooking gas! So, how much other countries are paying for all these? Why are the Newspapers so quiet about all these? Why? Sure....... many croonies involved sure 'untung' one.

Citrawarna 2008 has just been launched and it is to promote tourism in Malaysia with Colours of Malaysia. Many colours.

Below is a report that there are two colors we do not like!!! Red and Green.

Fake APPLE JAMBU Hybrid aka Crystal Apples from Cameron Highlands and is dangerous to health!

The following update is a report made in 2007 by our Consumer Association of Penang (CAP) who has warned the public about a fake fruit hybrid available in Cameron Highlands and the Tapah Rest stops which have been selling to many unsuspecting tourists both local and foreign.

It is a heavily processed local jambu (rose apple), specially trimmed out of its skin on a rotating gadget thus 'moulding it into a standardised shape, and soaked into coloured syrup (saccharine?)with added preservatives. It is then chilled. It is sold off in pairs at RM13.00 per pair during the peak season like these coming school holidays.
The popular two striking colors are in red and green.
These Fake guava-apples are sold chilled because it is to keep the crystallised colored sugar in solid state. It turns bad after a few days! Unsuspecting tourists always think that there are always 'new' fruits being continuosly hybridised by farmers especially from Cameron Highlands. Our group of elderly friends and relatives just got home from a trip to the Camerons, brought many back and we tried it out! It was just a (jeruk) preserved fruit and costs so much!

The worst part is that these fake products, not only gives our Government a bad name, contains coloring and preservatives which can cause health problems. The colourings are :- Tartrazine, brilliant blue, carmoisine, sugar/saccharine, artificial vinegar, preservatives. Why are fresh fruits being so heavily processed and sold off again looking like fresh fruits? Running out of ideas?
It was also suspected that the idea came from Thailand.

Based on previous reports, the Fruits and Vegetables Farmers Associations started pointing fingers here and there saying something like it is not the Growers at fault but the fruit SELLERs brought it up from the lowland cities as the Jambu fruits could not be grown in the Highlands!

Another funny thing is that an official from the Federation of Vegetable Farmers Association even said that the whole thinggy is "News to him!!!" Another even accused CAP that there were "no such thing" and they would need 'proof' that this kind of fruit is sold in the Camerons!!!!!!

One just need to take a stroll at the areas near "Kea garden stalls" at Brinchang, and see the dozens of parked tourist buses and the tourists carrying bags of these fake and dangerous fruits with them. Sometimes we wonder just what are the Authorities doing to safeguard our health?

Another thing is that why our Health Ministry did not act when this was brough up way back in 2007? Is this product safe for consumption? To children? Elderly? Tartrazine have also been reported that it may cause tumour growth which is deeply linked to Cancer!

Dear fellow bloggers, please let your friends and relatives know immediately about these fakes and not to be cheated! The school holidays have just started. As it is also a health hazzard just think of the dreaded Cancer it could cause! Also think of our kids as they are always attracted to bright colors. Avoid these if possible as we are all well informed these days.

You know hor..so much headache already. Malaysia's Johore say that the Batu belongs to them and Sinkapore says it is theirs. So LKY's people renovated the lighthouse which was built by the East India Company in 1851. It was named after their hydrographer, Capt. James Horsburgh.

So the small quarrel began. Small got big and bigger. So big, that someone says we go to UN!
Yah, get the ICJ (International Court of Justice) with so many big,big laywers to decide.

Last night, I heard the verdict. Sinkapore got to own the rock where the lighthouse stands.
We managed to get the two little stones also near Pedro Branca. Ours is Pulau Batu Puteh.

So, I also read that some poor fishermen in Johore would be very dissapointed. They say that there got plenty fishes wan. Maybe including John Dory fish!

So I will ask them to sing some peaceful song to give them hope and take things "IN A CALM MANNER" and RESPECT ICJ's decision. So let us all sing this song to de-stress and enjoy the two small ROCKS that we have got! At high tide, only ten seagulls can stand on!

Fake Dory Fish Fillets at it again!
A Catfish is NOT Dory Fish!
......Part 4

Would you believe that since 2002, this kind of frozen 'John Dory Fish fillet' has been selling in our Hypermarkets when it is actually, NOT the real Dory Fish?

A newspaper advertisement three days ago:-

And a flyer of another hypermart (supposedly by an 'educated' foreign company):-

The Indonesian packaging (sold in Jarkata ) did not mention "Dory":-

Until today, our Consumer Ministry and the Consumer Associations are 'silent' about the way they market this fillet, falsely labelling it as the 'first class thing'. Spoken to the Consumer Association of Penang 2 years ago. They were investigating the addition of gelatine (Halal?) to make it heavier.

So there are three things here.
1) Is this the real Dory fish or not?
2) Why must they used gelatine to double the weight of the fillet?
3) Is the gelatine safe and from what source?

For question one, it was already confirmed that it is not the real dory fish. (as in John Dory below)
It is actually a species of a river scavenger, a catfish called pangasius/basa/sutchi (Vietnamese)It is equivalent to our Ikan Patin.

They are caged bred by the thousands along the fresh-watered Mekong.

The original John Dory Fish is from the temperate sea waters and do not swim in shoals. They do not taste 'muddy'. They are classed as the "Cordon Bleu" in fish receipes and they may cost 'an arm and a leg' to eat.

The size of the actual John Dory is much larger and shorter as compared to the other, it is smaller, longer and is heavier due to the water plus gelatine to hold more water.

The Agri-food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore have even issued a stern warning to retailers with a heavy fine if found cheating. Please see a copy of their notice of 13th. May, 2005 below.

While in Singapore, the supermarts followed strictly and did not mentioned anything about Dory but when eating out, almost all hawker stalls and cafes even printed 'dory fillets' on their menu!! A well known cafe at Clarke Quay still does that.

Would you believe that after so many years of such malpractices, the Authorities in Malaysia did not bother to look into this. What was their excuses?

It is not that we are against eating catfishes but the issue here is that the importers and hypermarkets are still advertising it (boldly enough and in full colour) in their flyers calling catfish as Dory fish! It is so blatant and it is just like showing the 'finger' to the Government.

Or is it that we do not have 'smart' people in the Ministry?

Serving to the public as dishes.The current situation here in Kl and PJ especially towards lower to mid sized western cuisine restaurants serving fish dishes, almost all of them uses this so called dory fillet as a subsitute to increase the choice available to customers. Thus when ever fish and chips, and grilled fish fillet are ordered, alternative are preferred because they are cheaper. It was surprising to note that several well known fish eateries for western dishes are even located at high end places such as The Mid-Valley, One-Utama. The Curve. The Pavilion and the Queensbay Mall in Penang, are already involved in using and naming them as dorys.

This have got to stop. Consumers must be made aware what they are ordering and what they are actually eating. Even frozen 'quick-cook pre-packed' meals, stating only whitefish meat as an ingredient, must declare with the actual fish used.

Maybe, each and everyone of us should make a unified report to the Consumer Associations to stop all these cheatings. Either that or we are not bothered by it ourselves?

Ulu Yam's Original Loh Mee

Visited this eatery again on Monday and love the food.

This un-named place, despite being 'cut-off'' from the main road by a flyover at Ulu Yam Lama, is still very popular for its fare.
Unlike several eating places at Ulu Yam Baru, this one on the one road village still serves excellent Loh Mee.

They are also well known for their home-made deep fried 'Saito' (ikan parang/wolf herring) fish cake and fried Fu Chok.

You can feel the smoothness, crispiness and real fish taste. Mmm! the aroma and it goes with their special chilli sauce.
The area is also popular for growing their own Mustard Greens (Sawi). A little hard and tough though!

Oh, do try their braised chicken feet! Yummy! When I come back here, I will order two plates of this!
Came across this empty house with such unique design. Hope they do not knock it down but refurbish it to spare such heritage that Malaysia is so proud of.

According to the media today, the Selangor State Government will launch its own wireless broadband network in two weeks!

Dunno!
Whatever, I am dying to wait for it.

As long as it is better than TM Streamyx I will sure sign up one!

After all da shitty experience with Telekoms, any mention of 1 Mbps, 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps or 1,000 Mbps get me the sshivers!!!!!

This is a Giant. A Government Linked Company which controls ALL telecommunications in this Country. It is also a MSC status setup- Multi-Media Super Corridor.

They have a beautiful looking Headquarters in the City of Kuala Lumpur. Very impressive.

Today is 21st. April 2008. Exactly 31 days (one month) I have applied for the TM Streamyx latest Promotion for the Combo Package of 4 Mbps. I have FAILED miserably.

Finally, I am forced to believe that getting 4 Mbps is like winning the grand prize of the following:-

Or perhaps I should have gone to a temple for divine help,

or a fortune teller deep into the interior of China,
or a Swami in Jalan Masjid India,

Oh dear, I have got myself into very unnecessary difficulty.

I have made 13 trouble reports, spoken to 26 personnel and made 52 phone calls during this 31 days. Should have tried Sport Toto 6/52!!!!

Today, it failed again. I am supposed to get 4 Mbps. The download speed test are as follows:-
TM Speedometer- tested 4 times and got the result as 671 Kbps.
Jaring Test- tested 6 times = 128 Kbps
Speedtest- tested 10 times, five times hanged! = 542 Kbps

Should have also tried 3D ten big/ten small!!

Where the Pook is my 4,000 Kbps?????CCB!

Have even made an official complaint to the Advertisers Standards Authority of Malaysia as suggested by a fellow blogger.

Today, I spoke to Encik Hamzi of TM who have been very helpful throughout the entire event.
I believe that he has done his best to help me but it looks like he is not at fault. I sincerely think that TM should be held responsible because it seem that the right hand do not know (or care) what the left hand is doing!! Why come out with a promotion that only 5% can qualify?
The entire poor Technical team is going around like headless chickens (.....birds again!)trying to solve problems and wasted so much precious ringgit and sense! If not supported, this company would have "Pookai-ed" long time ago!!!

Or maybe our Royal Town of Klang is not that important. The funny thing is that I also remembered a few months ago, an Ass was heard trying to make our little town into a CITY by 08-08-2008!!!!!!! Malu!

Trying to get 4 Mbps is like trying for the lottery. Remember the green parrot? He could have told me that I cannot get the so called' super' Broadband speed in my life time!!!

To Telekom Malaysia, you SUCK big time.

If I were to be their boss, I would have jumped off that beautiful building!

Minister's Talking Biggest Crap!!!

The two major news media reported about "Billion-ringgit boost for Broadband" today.

It was reported that The Gormen and Telekom Malaysia's plan to spend, spend and spend again to have a top notch high speed broadband in the next 10 years! Blah!Blah!

Please stop all da BIG talking which is begining to sound like SHIT!!!! Almost no Country in the World have or are planning 1,000 Mbps!!!!!!!!!!

If you see my previous postings of March and April 2008, I went through HELL and back just to get a measly 4 Mbps!! Just 3 days ago, on 13th. May, I finally got back my ONE Mbps! All because of my itchy backside to fall for the TM's promotion of getting a better deal!!

It was 1 month (21st.March till 22nd.April) trying for 4 Mbps and FAILED! And almost another 1 month to get back (downgraded) to my original one Mbps!

We also know why we cannot believe all that Big Talk and shitty reporting from the main stream media (MSM) nowadays. Today it said that South Korea have a Broadband speed of 1,000 Mbps!!!! Really Shitty Reporting!!!! Just look at BBC's report (of 2003) mentioning plans for this Country's broadband at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3222664.stm

In actual fact, Korea's broadband is averaging between 2 Mbps to 10 Mbps and are trying to upgrade to 100 Mbps.
Not 1,000 Mbps! Who is talking Crap here in Malaysia? The press or the Minister?

Little Getaway...Part 1

We got quite a bit to chew during the last 2 weeks and we wanted to do a quick getaway. We did the craziest thing like driving to the East Coast, about a thousand Kilometer for a day trip. We packed up some stuff and our little girl Xiao Mei (a Shih Tzu) and drove away in our little SUV!

This blog is going to be quite lengthy but we have placed it in two parts. Promises plenty of interesting pictures of food, drink and places! Enjoy!

KEMAMAN

Took a crazy day trip up to Kemaman, Cukai in Terengganu exactly last Sunday. It was a long drive on one of Malaysia's new Expressway. The round trip took 12 hours.

The last time we were there was about 10 years ago, on a Treasure Hunt Trip. Way before that,about 30 years ago, it was our meeting point for Deep Sea Angling in the South China Sea.

Boy, this little port have changed. Really Changed! Those days, there were only a row of wooden shops, a Government Rest House by the jetty and a row homes of ship stevedores and chandlers' warehouses. Also along this narrow main street, were many chinese restaurants and quaint little kopitiams. We would sleep on the floor of one of these till we board our fishing boat in the morning. The drive from KL would usually take seven hours!!!!

Last week, we left Klang at 9am. The new Expressway was good and fast. We arrived Cukai in time for lunch. We had our long awaited favourite Baked Crabs and Coffee!
You see, Kemaman is famous for this style of baked crab.

The ones found here is the original and is made from the deep sea 'blue crab' (aka. Blue Manna.. ref.Australian..) Ketam Bunga (Mal.), Chiik(Hokk.). Unlike the usual "muddies", this crab is big and the taste & texture of the meat is different..

The way they prepare it, according to the oldest restaurant, the Restaurant Malaysia Seafood, is that all the flakey meat is cooked, removed and onions, garlic and seasoning are added before being placed back into its shell. It is then coated with egg white and left to be baked. It is served with a special chilli sauce. It used to be RM3 each but now, it is RM7 a piece!
Yah! This is the Best part! Adoh! Wah Korh (Teow.)!
Yummy! Special Chilli sauce! Sedap nya!
Other time tested dishes from this restaurant are also available. We tried the Garlic Fish and it was great! Fresh steak of a large Garoupa (Sek Pan in Cant.) are deep fried and served with sliced garlic which is also deep fried and served without sauce.

This shop IS historical and the Original.

There are also four other shops offering baked crabs.

Of course, the other main attraction here in Kemaman is its coffee. The famous Hai Peng Coffee.

Little Getaway ......Part 2

Besides baked crab, and other lovely seafood, this second part of our trip focus on another Kemaman's pride. Coffee.

KEMAMAN

Of course, the other attraction here in Kemaman is its coffee. Kedai Kopi Hai Peng. Not to be missed.
It is so famous that it is also featured on Google Earth!

This 'old bird' have been making, fomulating, blending and brewing its own coffee since 1940.In one of my trips back in the 70s, we had it at their little old shop but now, they have got their own new building completely serving meals during the entire opening hours.
The business have been handed down and Elaine is running the show.
The coffee is, in our opinion the best in Malaysia. Still is.They now come in vacuum packs for per cup.

We bought 20 boxes! We usually bring packets of this brand where ever we travel. We prefer the one with just coffee and sugar. We sincerely wish they can pack minus the sugar. Eat less sugar lah!
We even brew it in our car when we make any stops at the lay-bys.

They also sells Nasi Dagang, Nasi Lemak, freshly fried keropok, Keropok Lekur, curry puffs, toast and butter, half-boiled eggs.
Yummy! Just add the curry gravy! And ready to go!
Being a main port and a fishing village, fresh fish is the order of the day. Our fishing trips during the hey days, witnessed good to excellent catches. Here was the place I caught my first
"Lo Shee Pan"or also known Kerapu Tikus. This is the "King of Garoupas" in term of eating. That was way back in the late 70s!!!

Zoo in the Parliament!

See? This show beats all 'Live' telecasts!!! Including the "American Idol" which is nearing to its nail-biting finale. But, the Live from the Malaysian Parliament is more exciting!

While watching a clip from "You Tube", I really got pissed off at some of our dearly ELECTED Members of Parliament! Some are so goddamned stoopid! So un-educated! I wonder why people still 'erect' these sort of clowns to represent them at such an honourable place such like the Parliament???? Is all this, still a joke?

If you go back to my older post, my prediction wasn't off the mark at all! It is so predictable!
It never ends. So many 'monkeys' still exists! The best of the monkeys is that bloke from East Malaysia! You can only find this species of Probocsis Monkey in this part of the World!!!!
He always seemed to be getting a "hard on" all the time!!!!!!!

TM SUCKS!

Remember my ordeal when I selected the TM Combo Package to 4Mbps?
That was on 21st. March.

Today is 8th. May, 2008 and have been 17 days since I officially decided to go back to my 1 Mpbs RM88/month deal. Upon checking with TM Service 100 report, it seemed that on record, I am still on the so called 4Mbps package! Why must it take 17 days to do a 'jumper' adjustment?

Hey Gormen, Do something about it Lah!

According to the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), this entire area located between the new Puncak Alam trunk road and the stretch of the Guthrie Expressway, cuts through these animals' natural migratory path. Therefore, many Tapirs have already been killed. A rough estimate was one Tapir killed every two month as we were told! We saw a smaller roadkill (a baby Tapir) on the Guthrie's some time ago.

How many more Tapirs do we have in the wild? Are we trying to kill them all? Isn't it a protected animal species? It is even a logo/mascot for the MNS!!! Can't we all do a protest on these highways at all? If MNS do it, count us in. Come on let us help these poor animals.
These are our Heritage we would gladly leave for our children.

In more 'educated' countries, they constructs flyovers for vehicles around these areas and how come the builder of this expressway did not do the same? In one country, they built many mini bridges to allow Frogs/Katak/Kodok/KhumKhoi, to go thru. What no money? Toll expressway?

To the driver of the vehicle who knocked down this helpless animal.... go take a leaping 'Fcuk' at the moon!!!! You must be either Sleepy & Speeding! You could have avoided knocking it down.

To Guthrie, please note that although a stray animal slips through the kilometers long fencing, it cannot remember where or how to get out of the expressway. It is already trapped inside the expressway itself and trying to get out. As if a Tapir can climb over the fence!!!

And to the idiotic human who cut up the fencing (just to take a short-cut), go take a leaping "Fcuk" at an oncoming speeding container truck!

Sometime ago, along the East West Highway, we had elephants problem. We still do despite of assurances by the Highway Authorities to do something about it. Oh! Sam left already.

It is begining to look like the Malaysian Government is not 'Educated' and 'Sophisticated' enough to handle things like this and still dared to claim that it would be 'developed' enough by 2020? Is it not comparable to a young and beautiful girl, growing up 'sexy' and developing all parts of her body except the brains thus ending up being "Fcuk" by any 'Tom, Dick and Ali?"

And....oh,....yah, go build this Billion Ringgit "Space Centre" in the deeps of Kota Tinggi and frighten the damn 'shit' at all the wild animals!!!! Tourists come here to see things like nature and Tapirs....and not some used Rockets and rusting space crafts! Duh!

The Parliament Starts Today!!

For the first time in Malaysian History, it is going to be the old versus new.
Our local team mainly from Selangor and the Federal Territory of KL are looking forward to see, talk and understand what have been going on with the Government for the last 50 years that, almost all its Citizens wanted changes so badly.

Here is our local reporter. We convinced him to come down from Bukit Gasing, PJ to witness and see the event that is taking place. He is very interested because it will be affecting him and his family up there especially with so many development taking place. So much trees are already chopped down. They are all furious. They want to PROTEST the right way, because if in the wrong way, they are going to share cells with the famous HINDRAF 5 at Kamunting!

This was the leaflet I got from a bloke promoting their new Combo Packages at TM Point office in Klang today. He blah, blah, blah, blah-ed."... and said sure can get wan if you are 1 Km from the exchange....." Da Bull and Da Cow!!

I told him to change his sales pitch because I am here in this TM Point office today to officially CANCEL the Combo Package of 4 Mbps which I applied 32 days ago. I lived just 800 metres from the exchange!!!!!! The speed that I am getting is only 89 Kbps but paying for 4,000 Kpbs at RM 160.00 per month! The billing came 3 days ago! Cow Crap!!!

After 40 minutes of waiting, I got to fill up a borang of '100 questions' again for a "DOWNGRADE". What Downgrade? It wasn't even Upgraded at all! Niamah!

Just look at the clause "Subject to availability" and "Speed is at Best Effort"!!!!Printed so small that one cannot see it! Can you see it? WTF!

The saddest thing is that there are so many people applying for this 'meal ' in front of us!!!! Do they really know what they are getting themselves into? Do TM feel proud about this? Do TM realise that it is a 'sin' to make so many people suffer? Just what kind of deal is this?

This downgrade application, I heard, is going to be tough too. Since the line have been altered for the combine internet AND home phone, they are going to take a week to modify. Our Internet would also be dead for a week! Just like we have experienced during the upgrade.

Also, it came with an outdated modem which the technician have set it up & configured. I should return this modem. But is it safe? My user name AND Password is already inside the modem and I cannot get in to delete it!!!! This is shit!!! Well, let us see what goes. Please pray for us!

TM is really losing Ringgit and Sense over this meaningless campaign.

Announcing the Departure of Flight.......................

On the 12th.March, our resident Magpies laid four little eggs.

Four chicks were hatched, thus four new magpies on 4th. April.

After 15 days, they grew bigger. Feathers and all. Always hungry.

Three days ago, they were ready to take flying lessons.

They left home today.

These resident Magpies have made our house, their home for the last six years. This is the 10th. generation and we just love them. The morning chorous usually starts at 6.15am and would announce their arrival to roost at 7.08pm.

They will be back, I know it.

It was reported on the newspapers today that sometime ago, some ADUN made a 'study trip' to Germany, Amsterdam and France to learn about Pig Rearing. The trip must have been so educational and enjoyable that the participants 'forgot' about the real purpose of the trip. That reminded us of another group of selected people who made a trip for some noble study cause which included Belly Dancing on a slow and exotic cruise down the Nile River!

DUTY FREE in PD?

Huh? Am I hearing right?

What is it in PD that the State Government wants to pour in Millions of Ringgit to make it a Duty Free Tourist beach Resort?

Similar to Stulang Laut? Where's Stulang Laut? (..........I know, I know..it is somewhere in JB.........)

New Hotels, New Multi-Purpose Jetty, Shopping Complexes, New Office Blocks, New Customs, Quarantine and Immigration Buildings? Just like they did in Port Klang Freee Zone? Why PD?

It may be the ONLY decent beach resort on the entire West Coast (by the way, it is facing a Straits and NOT a Sea or an Ocean!) besides Tanjung Bungah/Ferringi and Langkawi's Northern tip which have some good sandy beaches. Why PD?

Are we not talking about the 'idle' reclaimed land that was left aside for some 'umpteen years?
Why now? The council still got money meh?
Shopping Complexes as tourists attraction? Like Dubai? Huh?Duh! Why PD?

The above picture was taken in 2002 and just look at where is all the 'water' ? Note the 'artificial lagoon' in that resort! A tourist could be drowned in all that mud!!

I tell you what! Just spent some money CLEANING UP that place and you will see more people coming. The last time we've been there was some 15 years ago!!!! The Condo unit we had was sold off for a pittance! Just look at the so-called 'beach' that we were supposed to swim in! I did recall reading about some other project (further up North of PD) that was to be turned into a 'World Class' Beach comparable to the Gold Coast of Australia!!!!Duh!

The problem in PD is the SANITATION System. Many houses/shops/hotels 'pipes' their sewage directly into the sea! I believe that many 'moons' ago, somebody did a sea water test and reported that it contained high levels of 'E-coli' germs. Yes, that was the same kind of bug that knocked out some poor students last week in Malacca due to the usual canteen 'food poisoning'.

An Ocean is an ocean, A Sea is a sea, a Straits is a straits and a Bagan/Kuala is a river mouth.

Why not give Penang back its Duty Free Status? Got more attraction Mah?

Just received an article from the EU about our Tourism Ministry's hoo-haa about her activity.
This, I believe, was written by a Prof. Dr. Sir Edward of Oxford University, UK . Here is the excerpt:-

".........I regret to read a fearful article on the recent announcement by the new Tourism Minister, Ms. Azalina has suggested it will terminate all MOUs signed with contractors and operators of tourism activities in states held by the Pakatan Rakyat: Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak and Selangor. “Tourism activities in the five states will be run by ‘individuals’ appointed by the Ministry. This was necessary because we fear the Pakatan Rakyat state governments might not accept the national tourism plan.” I was damn shocked to know that she is behaving like a little Napoleon in the new cabinet and no respect to the PM calls. A Malaysian graduate told me that she forgot nobody ever voted for her in 12th GE. She won uncontested twice in a Johor state. They have decided to cancel and boycott the designation to visit Malaysia year 2008 in view of the recent announcement by her to punish foreign tourists and to sabotage the Opposition governments in 5 lovely states. We believed that most foreign tourist agencies in Middle East, US and EU have been informed about the official announcements by your Tourism Minister on her cabinet decision to exploit tourism industry in Malaysia. Hence, I and my Middle East rich affluent businessmen have cancelled our attendance to events held by Malaysian Tourism Board and our foreign investment mission to IDR Project in Malaysia in forthcoming meeting here in protest her unfair and injustice towards all Malaysian.

Last but not least, I think Singapore Tourism Board and Tourism Authority of Thailand should be invited by Pak Lah to teach her on how to become a good governance Tourism Minister of Malaysia or get her fired immediately.

Can any Klangites tell us just what is this funny looking/Strange contraption, sitting in the middle of the road in Klang Town? It is located just opposite the new ( poorly planned ) Central Bus Station which used to be the "Great Wall Supermarket".

You gotta see it when it rain 'cats and dogs'! All the poor commuters are seen running helter- skelter just like rats trying to keep out of the rain! The shades do not help in keeping them dry but supposed to look nice only! Kesian!

Please lah, stop making all these 'gaya looking' stuff which do not serve any purpose at all. Got too much money or what?

What Da Foook?

At first, she said that all those States under Pakatan Rakyat will not enjoy any promotions created by the Ministry of Tourism which she heads. She even mentioned that all existing promotional booths and centres will be closed in these states such as Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kelantan and Kedah.

What that would mean is that tourists would be left on their own without any help when they visits these states. Why is this New Minister displaying such "childish" attitude? Anyone can guess what she is saying, even my kids!

Today, at BERNAMA news, she denied what the Mentri Besar of Selangor and the Chief Minister of Penang are saying. She did the 'about-turn' by saying that there would be no 'boikot' of these states and everything would go back to normal.
Bullshit!!!!
At the same day, she announced the tourism roadshow called "Citrawarna/Citrarasa 2008"...(whatever) to be held in Malacca, Johore, Pahang, Trengganu and Sabah.
WTF? What happened to the other 5 states? No Boikot Huh? ........Niamah!

My Dear PM, it is Ministers like these that are causing you so much problems, so much so ,that you would be soooo busy doing the never ending damage control. Please lah, get Ministers who do not behave like this and are more qualified to do their job! It was people in your kabinet that got you kicked in the A*$e in the first place!
Anyway, I still do receive friends from overseas who comes to visit us yearly. It was about 200 of them throughout 2007. I am not pleased to announce that they would NOT be coming here this year. They were not really happy during their last visit. They are going to Singapore, Indonesia (Visit Indonesia Year 2008) and Thailand instead. I will still try to encourage them to visit us though.
Hey what the heck, I thought Visit Malaysia Year is for 2007? Now also for 2008, 2009, 2010 ....forever kah?
Hey, don't get me wrong. I am very patriotic and proud of my Country. Pronounciations my boy......Good Pronounciations is important!

While awaiting some 'big' heads at Telekoms HQ, Jalan Pantai to help me sort out my Streamyx problem, I need relax and chill out.

RTM's Radio "Light and Easy" is one of my favourite and without fail, it would be our 'pre-set' radio in the car, walkman, Hi-Fi, or i-pod.....

Lately, some of our Commercials are getting out of quality. Whatever brands it could be, it must be promoting sales of their 'quality' products but listen to this.

Background noises......(Ahh!....Ooh!...Ah!.....Ahhhh!)
Lady:...."What's wrong Maria?"..........
Maria:....."My Master Enjoys Eggs!".........
Lady:....."Here...try this 'X' brand oil....it is good for your....."
Maria:...."Yesss!.......It is better now...!"

Duh! I almost drove into a longkang the first time I heard it in the car. It could be my age and my hearing is getting poor or I may need to change my car speakers. The next time the commercial came on, I fell off my bed.

I believe that words like 'muscle', 'joints' and 'aches' should be said properly.

Then, hor, yesterday's report about the famous case in regards to a Mongolian Lady, it was reported that someone mispronounced 'skeletal' as 'sketelal'!!!! or "reminds" as "remains" whatever.........

Then on the same radio channel, the weather forecast was read by the news lady. She pronounced the town of Sandakan as "Sarn-DUCK-karn" when it is commonly pronounced as "Sarn-dar-karn". Which is right? Quack!Quack!

Still Changing...after 12 days!!!!

This is begining to look like a sick April Fool's Joke when I woke up this morning.

Last evening, the guy from Telekoms came over and did some test. After that, he gave me the good news and even better!..............................my phone line CAN take 4Mbps and as he tested further, he said that it can even give (listen to this!!!!) 5,120Kbps!!!! That's right.

Five thousand One hundred and twenty Kilobytes per second!!!!! Holy Moly! That IS good!

And he said that even I got upgraded from the 1Mbps to the Combo 5 package (4Mbps), I can surf at 5Mbps!!!!!!!!! (An extra 1,120Kbps free of charge!!!!!!) He gave me an outdated looking modem.

When he left after 2 hours, I tried it out.

I went to the TM Speedometer to be fully convinced.

Does anyone know of a Government Ministry that I can lodge a fair report to? or do I have to take up a case with my lawyers to see Telekoms? Do not forget that I would be fighting against a Government Linked Company!!!!

TM, Please honestly Tell me whether Can I get Your Combo 5 Package or Not?

My Streamyx like went DEAD from 24th -29th. March.
(No. it is not over some outstanding payment as I have always paid via auto-debit)

It is because I got 'gattal' and applied for an upgrade to 4Mbps "Combo 5" Package from their latest Promotion. This is a good deal for only RM160/month including the fixed landline charges.
And so I thought.

Below is a daily event that I am going through and still, this situation is not solved.
PLEASE BE WARNED that TM is Not fully prepared for their very own promotion.

21st Friday March 2008 : Early morning I went to TMPoint in Klang and applied. After listening to all their 'cerita' (a sad story about whether Klang got 4Mbps or not, I gave up). Their full color posters and press ads/ TV adds could have costs Millions of Ringgit. They should have clearly stated that only CYBERJAYA can get 4 Meg. No one called us and no one visited our home to test or check it out.

The same day, after attending a meeting in PJ, I decided to pop into TM Point in Kelana Jaya, to enquire. The staff were very positive & courteous and asked me to fill some forms for the upgrade. I did and she said that a technicial team would call me within 3 working days.

Saturday: No one came.

Sunday: No one called. (Holiday lah)

Monday 24th. March 2008: The DSL light on modem started blinking non stop and no connection could be made. Called their 1-300xxx-xxxx number at 11am to find out. The answer was very polite:
Sorry,..will check...Thank you...
At 4.30pm I called again, this time, they said something about our line being "TERMINATED"!! and will check with her boss first. At 11.30pm. called again, they said something about our line being "RELOCATED"!!!!!!Niamah Located to where ah?...Botswana?

Tuesday25th. March 2008: The DSL light on modem still blinking at a slow rate (it could also mean that it is dying) I called THREE times today because we could not get into our Internet.
We called at 8.55am, 1.45pm & 6.45pm We learnt some new words like "Cable Lompat, some jumpers or something, installation on exchange, site testing, New phone number with this new package, New account for this new combo......blah!blah!Toing!Toing!

Wednesday 26th.March 2008: Called 3 times today, at 9am, 2pm, 5pm....... all no good news, still trying to fix it up. Bosses in meeting. We banged Ba**s because we are still paying for our internet charges.

Thursday 27,March 2008: Called 4 times today at 9am,1.30pm, 5pm and 10pm now the news is something like trying to get their bosses to work on it. I am without Internet for SIX days now!!

Friday 28th, March. (One week after its upgrade application) Still no line and decided to drive
32 KM from Klang to Kelana Jaya to settle this once and for all. Same thing. Blah!blah!Toing!Toing!...about..some miscommunications..usually only 3 days.....still no line.

Came home at 9pm. The blinking DSL lite stopped blinking. YES! Got through!

All OK but....upon checking for the speed whether I would be a new and Happy owner of a super fast 4Mbps (if successful) or back to that same 1Mbps which is not too bad at least I get back my line.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!

Testing with the TM Speedometer... download speed was recorded at 256Kbps! and Upload speed at 310Kbps.
Second test.................. download speed at 106Kbps Upload speed at 200Kbps.
Third time test............ download speed dropped to 96Kbps !!!!!! Upload at 218Kbps!!!!!!!!

Download speed at 96Kbps!!!!!!!!

PTUI!......NIAMAH!........PKM!........CCB!...........TNS!!!!!!......(whatever!)

JUST WHERE IS MY FRIGGING 4Mbps speed as promised? The above test results are so ptui!....ptui!....... My usual speed for the 1Mbps is at 817download and 328upload.

Now it is WORST!!!!

POSSIBILITY to be the most POKAI (efficiency) Company in the World. Do they Care? Why should they? This is a dreaded disease in companies which MONOPOLIZES. Work or no work still got salary! Hey, if they are that good, why don't they try out "The Six Sigma" principle!!

Just What the Heck Telekom Malaysia is doing? False Adversiting again? Why are they getting away with such dirty and vague promotions to trick so many consumers. If they are not geared up to this kind of promotions, Do NOT DO IT! You are causing so much confusion to the public.
IF there is another EQUAL telephone company playing on a level field, TM would have gone Bankrupt long time ago. Dear Government, please love your people, please open up this 'monopolistic policies' in order to be transparent and fair.

Throughout this week, (co-incidentally after I blogged about bad things about Telekoms, I got this) I was literary 'kidnapped'',"tortured", "hard laboured","mentally abused","denied of my rights","robbed","silenced".......all because of my travelling,standing and waiting for hours,walking here and there, stress, loss of understanding, lost RM22 of one week [no] use of streamyx, and was in incommunicado!!! I want a refund!!!!

A funny thing though..... how come we cannot do a speed test selection at the speedometer for a 4Mbps package? There was a 8Mbps experimental link!!! Bah!

Please THINK TWICE before signing up this silly Combo Meals. You may be taken for a Ride!!!!!

We have stopped buying newspapers four months ago.

Not only we have saved money, we all get less stressful. Besides those silly news, we are consistantly getting insulted with so many 'brainless' advertisments.

Moreover, these media are ALL owned by political parties who just wants us to read what they want you to read. We are not supposed to think on our own. And shit, we have to pay RM468.00 a year [(Rm1.20x5)(RM1.50x2)x52weeks]

We want the truth with good and unbiased reporting.

Just why can't others get a license to print another newspaper? Controlling again?

Enough Is Enough!

As life's getting unbearable, the recent "Tsunami" is a proof that many of us citizens are screaming for a change.

The cost of living is getting costlier and the quality of goods are getting poorer.

Besides Petrol, Toll, Cooking Gas, Electricity, Water, Phone, Hawker Food, Government Fees, Licences, Tax, Permit....... which have shot through the roof, there are THREE things we would really like to see it changed immediately.

1) ASTRO

Yes, many did complain about the ever rising subscription charges and reduction in the number of 'free' channels. Eventually, everything is chargeable after their 'restructuring' of channel numbers. Therefore we end up paying more yearly. To make matter worst, they began to show repeats after repeats thinking that we, are so stupid. Yes, we were stupid enough even to allow our equally stupid Minister to "phuck' us off by saying "... you can choose not to get Astro"......

Now, where is that damnned "Minister"?

WTF, this Minister forgot that there is a provision in universal law that we, the citizens would be able to receive terresterial TV and Radio programmes FREE-OF-CHARGE!!!!! That would be via the Government's Radio and Television Malaysia (RTM)......but then does the good Minister also know that in order to provide free terresterial TV/Radio, many new repeater stations need to be built especially around the ever increasing development of townships and housing areas throughout the country. According to our previous Indonesian maid, they just pay a fixed sum upon installation for a satellite dish and do NOT pay any monthly fee ever! Come on news media, you can do some research and report this in the press.

Why? RTM should answer. No money?

The best way to save money was to quietly ignore this. The folks in Gua Musang could not even receive decent quality TV reception until today!

I clearly remember paying RM24.00 a year for TV/Radio license before Astro.. Now we pay RM659.40 a year to Astro (i.e the cheapest RM 54.95 per month package) This is only to receive free Government channels and some worthless others channels which can be viewed free if you have a satellite dish set up similar to those lucky Malaysians living in Sabah and Sarawak who do not even pay any monthly/yearly fees or licenses.

Unless one subscribe to ASTRO, these poor folks in these remote areas continue to suffer.

I am willing to cancel my Astro if our beloved Government really care for us, the tax paying citizens. We do NOT want to pay for all those crappy outdated repeats or pay extra for those 'on demand' shits. I just want to see decent news and educational shows. Movies? You gotta be kidding me. A newer pirated DVD costs only RM4. If shared with my relatives, it is only 90sens per movie!!!

Therefore, dear Government, please build more repeaters so that we can save money. All we really need to see is TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, TV8, TV9. and listen to the radio.
You have indirectly FORCED us to install Astro and is getting unbearable and expensive.

They reported making Billions of Ringgit yearly!

This is the Main reason why many many people Voted the Barisan Nasional OUT. We got pookai-ed already. If the Rich wants Astro, they can still go ahead and pay but not us.

BN wants us back?...You really got to listen to us. Don't be so arrogant.

2) TELEKOMS MALAYSIA

Those days, we used to pay only RM15.00 per month for our house phone bill and that includes 100 free calls. Today, our household pays RM 500 per month ( 3 handphones and a land line excluding the RM88 streamyx cost) That would amount to RM6,000 a year compared to RM180 previously. Ya, ya....we got hand phones now but what about the quality of communications? Just see the comparison. We are just paying and paying instead of complaining and fighting for our consumer rights. Someone IS making BIG bucks and I know it is not me.

It is time to help us ease our burden. We are willing to pay for what we really use but must it be so expensive? TM again announced making BILLIONS of ringgit yearly. And the Government always approves their request for increase of charges. It is CLEARLY Monopoly and we do not have a choice. Or else, please give us a choice.

Now the worst of the problem.........number three!

3) INTERNET

Didn't the Internet and Bloggers whacked the Government "Big Time"? We got so fed up with the shitty newspaper who were reporting LIES thus we turned to the Internet.
During the recent General Elections, the news we got (the Truth!!!) is 3 to 4 hours earlier than the live broadcasts by all 4 TV channels! So who do we trust this time?

The Internet of course.

Where is 'that' Information' Minister again?

Again it is MONOPOLY. It is Telekom Malaysia again. Is this a 'communist country'?
TM controls ALL 'last mile' linkage to ALL offices, ALL factories, ALL Complexes, ALL Homes, ALL Longhouses, ALL Pondoks, ALL Guardhouses, ALL Cathouses, ALL Doghouses, ALL competing phone service exchanges. such as Maxis, Digi...blah blah.

Is our Internet Broadband really that good?
The best our home can get is the Streamyx 1Mbps package at RM88/month.
That would be RM1,056.00 a year..... and for what?

Just like some fellow blogger said...." it is just like going for a RM88 buffet dinner to eat all you can but discovered that the food choice is very limited let alone the limited quantity..." So you pay (no other choice) but eat only bits of bones of the so called 1Mbs (speed test always read 560kbps!!)

Let us not forget that this is the country promoting Super-Duper Multi Media Corridor!

Then, recently, TM started an Internet promotion called "COMBO" deals.

A visit to the nearest Telekom will show Large colourful posters screaming "Streamyx COMBO" packages deals at special prices including fixed landline charges. Just like those Fast food outlets trying to give you more value for your ringgit.

Their COMBO starts with 384kbps at RM60/month right up to RM160/month for the 4Mbps including landline rentals. Which dinosaur still use 348kbps?

I then enquired the 4Mbps. Jom WTF!!!!!!

I got shocked at the reply! Tak boleh! Tak boleh! (translated)...you punya area dah lama (old)and the copper cables cannot support 4Mbps. But I replied that I am just 1Km away from your exchange. "Must testing first. Then, can or cannot! You sign up first".... Jom WTF!!!

Telekoms dah planning to fix up fibre optic cable then you can get 4Mbps.

I asked :- "Bila?" (when) . Answer: "Tak Tauh! "(Don't know!) By the time I walked out of telekoms, I was so pissed off! WTF COMBO???? It looks like I will not get 4Mbps in my internet use THIS lifetime! Japan's lowest internet speed is 8Mbps!!!!! They are already going ahead with their satellite Broadband! Can our ASTRO do that too? Bet not, because it is really a 'political Monopoly' at all of our expense. Jom.

Why do a promotion costing millions of advertising Ringgit when TM knows that many would not be getting 4Mbps let alone 2Mbps. Jom!

They cannot even tell me where should I buy a new house in order to get 4Mbps if I need to get the best internet connection in Malaysia! Jom Shit!

Now, where is the nearest McD or KFC, their COMBO is really a better choice!

Swinging Telephone Pole!!

After all da Election actions, one could feel giddy just by reading, hearing and now, seeing the news. Most of them are really earth moving.

After parking my car in Jalan Paus Kijang here in Klang, I thought the ground actually moved!
Duh! I really need a rest.

But you see, there was a strong gust of wind and was about to rain cats and dogs. A roadside telephone pole 'moved'? Was it an earthquake again somewhere?
Duh!

You gotta see this!

This wooden (do they still use wood here in fully 'developed State' of Selangor?) Telekom's
pole have rotted at the base! And is partially supported by a side support bar! With all the weight of the cables would this pole topple over?

Dey TM, please lah, go change all these posts! Do you know what are 'white ants' ?

The Highest Flying Flag in the World?

Came home last evening and spotted what is seem to be 'The World's Highest Flag by a Political Party in the World"! Grabbing my pair of binoculars, I spotted three objects in the sky. It turned out to be 2 kites and a flag! It flew at (estimated) 1,000ft above sea level.

It looks like Malaysia Boleh!

Safety Hazzard!

Would you believe that this 'hole' in the middle of the road have been like this for more than a year? Believe it!

This is right in front of the Pos Malaysia's Utara branch in Klang Utama, Selangor.

In times like this, the metal grating was 'stolen' presumably sold off as scrap metal by a irresponsible idiot just to make some moolah. Was also told by a passerby that many wheels of vehicles broked, limbs and heads banged up, maybe, waiting for some poor chappie to lose his life before the MPK does something about it.

To MPK: "If the replaced metal grating was stolen (again), then, for god's sake, put in a concrete one instead!" Use your brains lah!

A new discovery

Batu Belah Seafood Restaurant

It's day ten of the Chinese New Year and as for eating, we are pretty tired of the same kind of dishes on the menu. After shopping for some groceries, we decided to take a very short drive off the beaten 'highway' to look for dinner.

After a left turn-out from the new Carrefour (used the rear exit) we discovered this joint.

It is called Batu Belah Sea-Foods and the address is at Lot 844B, Jalan Kapar (Batu 3) 41400 Klang. The contact numbers are 03-3341-9970 & 012-395-1110.

For the adventurous, the GPS Co-ordinants are as follows:-
3° 04′ 16.73° N 101° 25′ 31.49° E

It is located just behind Carrefour Hypermarket off Jalan Batu Belah, opposite where the old "Bouganvilla Club" was.

The dishes we ordered were:-

1) Big Prawns fried with small Prawns ( TuaHaeCharHaeBee)

2) Red Snapper Fish Head (AngChoeKungPoh Style)

3) Sweet Potato shoots (HuanChooHeok)

4)Burppppp! .........Yummy!
